Don't know your surnames.

Herzegovina was not part of Croatia-Slavonia in 1885.
Austria-Hungary's boundaries expanded in 1878, when the
Empire was given the right to occupy indefinitely the provinces
of Bosnia (Bosna) and Herzegovina (Hersek), even though they
in theory were under the suzerainty of the Ottoman Empire.
Bpsnia and Herzegovina were administered jointly by the
Austrian-Hungarian ministry of finance.

In 1908, Austria annexed Bosnia-Herzegovina, and the now single
province remained under the joint jurisdiction of both Austria
and Hungary.

Probably 100-150 surname Granich bearers in the U.S.

The Croatian telephone directory lists 56 surname Granic' (Granich)
just under Zagreb.
