I am sorry it takes me so long to answer postings. I share with son amd
he moves everything into a folder and it is difficult to return a day or two
later and find where I left off.
Thank you for several things. One for an insight to another way of
spelling. I have come accross it; as I have been searching for my anna. I
did not think it could bea possible spelling for her foughel or vogel.
She first spelled it Foughel on her application for marriage. I think I
have committed the biggest sin of geneology. ASSUMING I assumed it was her
spelling from before. I sometimes take notes as I check.[ If I didn't I
could check a whole lot faster. :)] for instance I noticed one ship full
of muscians and recorded that.. I need to find notebook to see where I saw
the vogl and what year.
I got off the subject...and to thank you for the information.
My anna came in 1887 with her nephew and why they lost contact with the old
country, and her family, I don't know.
Maybe it was the war. In those days they had to fear those who were not
"German here in Usa. My father told me how it was to be german during the
war over here. One did not talk about it much. Maybe for fear the
childrean would also repeat stuff.
So much information just didn't get mentioned. Also my father was teased by
someone and called "the duke" and that may have been another reason things
just didn't get mentioned.
I only came into my knowledge of Anna Vogel only from Sept to now. through
some wonderful vogels in Iowa, who are also hunting down other vogels. That
was the first I had ever heard of these people, they were caretakers of my
grandmother and her husband William Seil was a possible grandparent.?.
This anna is the daughter of Franczisca Umlauf and Ignaz Vogel. Although
her death certificate says E. I see there is another name with Similiar
sound. Other relatives suggest Ignza. is correct. One can only put on
death certificates what one knows and if the parents or acting parents never
talkeded about themselves how could survivers ever put in anything of
importance.
To make this long story shorter, I will add that It is not a fact that I am
blood related to this woman. and it was too early for her to have known
about WW . I have not traced her back to Czech family as of yet in
Kralicky and don't know what has happened to all her relatives during the
wars. I haven't even thought of that!!. What has happened to them?
After the war I do know that some of the family were sending care packages
to MAX AND ANNA MUEL who were suppose to be from Wurtemburg area and see
that is not near Czech country. [Some of the family were supose to be from
Eagle mountain area].

The other vogels are working on theirs. .
;If you have any more information for me I will appreciate it. I passed on
the informtion by this wonderful instrument and I am going to look into
your website.

Can you please tell me whether your VOGEL - VOGL - has any connection to
"my" VOGL:

Search and Unite was established in general in order to try to help rejoin
family members who were separated by the ravages of World War II, and who
may have survived. We are also searching for people whose families
originate in what is now the territory of the Czech Republic, and who may
have a chance to reclaim Real-estate which was taken from the families by
the Nazi Regime at the start of World War II.

These searches have just become particularly urgent because it has just
been announced in Prague that all claims for Real Estate property must be
submitted by 25 May 2001. After that, whatever the circumstances, the
Authorities will contemplate no further claims. If you are interested to
see what our work is about, please spend a few minutes and look at our web
pages at http://remember.org/unite. There are a number of requests posted
there for people we seek.

In this particular case and the reason I am writing to you - we are
looking for people last heard of in the 1940’s or early 1950’s.

1. Elsa PICK (PICKOVÁ) last known address in 1950 was 324 East 82nd
Street New York City USA
2. Hatie PECK (PECKOVÁ) last known address: 5657 Washington Boulevard
Chicago IL, USA
3. VOGL (VOGEL), Josef Rehovot near Tel-Aviv Israel in year
1950 POSSIBLY BORN IN 1898 (born 17Oct 1895)
It is known that he was the son of Arye, and that he died without having
children. We have so far failed to find any heirs.
4. kpt. Bedøich VOGL Praha XI Pøemyslovská 41

5 VOGLOVÁ Julie Praha XI in 1942 transport? Date of death 26.4.1942

Do any of these names mean anything to you?

Can you guide us to anyone, anywhere, whom you think can shed light on this
search?

Other unverified, but possible relatives: Henry Peck 6 Jun 1937 Julia Peck
29 Feb 1944 Joseph Peck 8 Sep 1950 Hattie Peck 14 Oct 1950 Sidney Peck 4
Jan 1964 Leoni Peck 29 Jan 1989

We need to locate relatives or heirs of these people. They have a claim
on Real Estate in Prague.
Please pass this fax on to whoever survives of that family. I would
welcome direct contact with them.

I would be very grateful for any help or suggestion you may have to help us
locate these people or other members of their families.

Equally, if you know of anyone else whose roots are in what is now the
Czech Republic, please help us spread he word. They may still have a chance
to put in a claim EVEN IF IN THE PAST THEY WERE TOLD IT WAS HOPELESS!

Search & Unite attempt to help locate people who, despite the passage of so
many years since World War II, may still exist "out there". We also assist
in the process of re-possession of property in the Czech Republic. See our
