Hello All:
I've been following the thread about why immigrants came to certain areas,
and was wondering if anyone had an idea what may have drawn my Schischka
family to Ohio in 1867. Traveling from Mantau, Bohemia, via Bremen, to New
Washington, Ohio (a very small rural town, of all places); New Washington
seems such an unlikely destination to have happened by chance. I do know
that other Schischkas came to the Midwest, from lower Michigan to northwest
Ohio.
Thanks in advance!
Joe
