About map resolution: The lower the number the more-detailed the map will
be. If you buy a map with a scale of more than 1:200,000 it will probably
not have all of the tiny villages or places with only a building or two along
a road or in a forest on it.

A friend in Vienna (who is also a professional genealogist) has access to a
lot of the old maps that are there. He told me:
