To Jan in Florida -

I'm awfully sorry, but your FHC misinformed you! The latest edition of the
Family History Library Catalog is March 2000 on CD, and costs $5 from SLC.

If you use the web site, on asking for Austria-Military Records, the first
page will tell you that there are 1534 records. On the CD, on asking for
Osterreich Armee Military Records, they will state they have some 2600+
records. I don't recall the exact number, but it is over 2600.

I have a copy of this CD and use it all the time. The FHC I have worked at
since it opened 6-7 years ago has asked SLC why the CD is not the catalog on
their web site. Their answer has consistently been they do not know. A
possible explanation is that they did not set up the web site themselves -
they hired it out to an outside firm.

All 7 of our computers at my FHC are networked, and on the Internet, and our
computer expert has put both the web site catalog on, and the CD March 2000
catalog on, and we can access either one. Believe it or not, in some things
the old catalog is easier to work with!

If there is anything I can help you with, in accessing the new CD, please let
me know and I'll be happy to do it.
