You will also find it on at least the first document an immigrant filed in
preparation for Naturalization, typically the Declaration of Intent, I
believe. The sponsor had to be present and attest to his sponsorship for
the immigrant to file this initial documentation for citizenship. Most
often I've found the sponsorship recorded in the index to the court records
in the court where the immigrant began his quest for citizenship.
