I would be very appreciative if anyone who does look-ups in the Leo
Baca immigration volumes could check for my two sets of
great-grandparents who came from Bohemia to America. I have been unable
to isolate the exact dates or port of entry. Here are
the particulars I do have.

1) Joseph and Anna (Panuch) Hanousek arrived in America from Tabor,
Bohemia about1880-81 at Belle Plaine, IA with daughter Anna (born July
18, 1874 in Tabor) and possibly a son John (born Dec. 2,1880).

2) Joseph and Margaret (Ulc) Novak arrived in North America from
Mlecice, Bohemia about 1860-61. Their first child George was born in
Ontario, Canada, Dec. 25, 1861 or 1862. The second child Albert was
born in Chelsea, IA in 1864 before
the family moved to Belle Plaine, IA.

Did Bohemians sometimes come through Canada first, at least in the
1860s, and which Canadian port would be likely?
