"Toller" is the original name for the River Hooke
Toller is probably a celtic river name meaning 'hollow stream, stream
running in a deep valley.'
so, Tollerford is 'the ford over the River Toller'
Frantum is "of the betheren' refering to the manor belonging to the
Knights Hospitallers
Porcorum is ' of the pigs'
The Toller is in front of the latter two, as they are situated on the
river
