Hello Beverly

HMP is indeed "Her Majesties Prison". The prison is in North Square and was
built on the site of Dorchester Castle. I am not certain of the date it was
built but I am fairly sure it was well before 1881.

I believe Pease Lane was what is now called Colliton Street which runs down
from Glyde Path Road to North Square, parallel to the High Street but behind
the old Shire Hall and Holy Trinity and St Peters Churches (all of which
front onto the High Street). Quite happy to be corrected on this one but I
think I am right.

Hope this helps.
