Hi Diana,

Good question, However as we (or certainly I)am referring to the early 19th
Century this would be prior to the first census (1841) for which national
records exist -- I understand that records were not kept for 1801 through
1831. From 1841 on I don't honestly know but I imagine that they would have
been included in the UK Census.

Can you remind me when permanent settlement was permitted in Newfoundland.
