Hi Jim.
An ancestor of mine was a game keeper for a WILLIAM CHAFIN [mid to late
1700,s] This was in the area of Cranbourne Chase. Dorset/Wilts area.
I have a excerpt from the book Keepers & Poachers in Cranbourne Chase:
Hatchers review vol 13 No 2.5 Salisbury. Which talks of a WILLIAM CHAFIN, I
will send it on as an attachment privately if you would like.

I just wondered if anyone else is researching the above names? I recently
found that my Great Grandfather (in Liverpool in 1881) was born in Sherborne
in Dorset. I noted a very heavy concentration of this rare name in he
counties of Dorset and Somerset. Has anyone else come across the CHAFIE
line?
