Hi

It is some time since i made the offer of look ups in the Sherborne
Register so I thought it might be useful to repeat it.

I found in a jumble sale a book titled "The Sherborne Register" 3rd
edition 1550-1937. This lists the headmasters, teachers, and more
interesting to a majority a list of pupil entrants from 1550 to 1937.
There is also a wealth of other intersting data - sports records,
society events (eg the Music Society). If any body has a Sherborne
School connection during this time who would like me to look up
information, I would be delighted to do so.

Incidentally the book is inscribed Ex Libris Rupert T.T. Waring. His
entry in the book is:

Waring, Rupert Thomas Tremayne, son of Rev. C. T. Waring, St. Philip's
Vicarage, Sydenham; b. [18]99; (g) [= Lyon House]; left [19]17; Europ.
War, Scout Pilot, R.F.C., France; (son 37); 6 Worcester Gardens, Sutton,
Surrey.

On proof of descendancy I'll return this book to its family!

Best wishes
Peter Armstrong
Former resident of Sherborne, but now of Newton Abbot, Devon
