There is a Hardiman "Hardy" Duke in TX. From my readings, he is
considered
to be one of the "original" dukes in TX. they even named a county after
him!

My great grandmother was named Georgia Anna Duke, born 1860, probably in
GA.
It is believed her mother's maiden name was Ayers. I do not have given
names
for her mother or father, and do not know for sure about her siblings. I
know for certain there a brother that resided in the Dallas TX area.

Georgia married Joseph rickard in 1879, Eastland Co. TX. Died 1935.
Buried
Aledo, Parker, TX.

Interesting point, though...Georgia and Joseph had a son named Richard
Hardy
Duke. I strongly believe that the "hardy" is for Hardiman, but I can't
prove
it.

If you have any info on Georgia would greatly appreciate receiving it.
