Today, I managed to get down to our local library to see what kind of
genealogy section they have (I've only lived in this area for about
28 years). I was surprised, it wasn't half bad - of course I don't
know what a good one or bad one might be, for comparison. Regardless,
I stumbled around and put my hand in the "D" section and came up with
what appears to be an original copy of Cope. It's beat up pretty
badly, but seems to be all there. It was donated to the library in
1967 by Florence Dutton Price. There are a couple handwritten entries
(I have tried to reproduced below) that seemed to try to extend Cope,
although I don't see a connection to Florence Dutton Price. I believe
the first, Jacob Dutton, is in Cope (entry 214) but their is a
correction on the name of his wife.

Jacob Dutton (7 July 1800-21 July 1877) m. Susan Pennell Mendenhall
(16 April 1803- 2 march 1882).

The next entries are a family (of a Jonathan P. Dutton) I don't see
any indication of a relationship to Jacob, but it seems likely - the
entries are on facing pages.

Jonathan P. Dutton (5 Jan. 1830 to 11 Oct. 1905) m. Emiline Glass (13
?Feb? 1855 - 9 Nov 1897). Jonathan was born in Chester, PA and
Emiline in Lisbon (appears to be followed by an "O." Is there a
Lisbon, Ohio?).


Children for Jonathan and Emiline:

1) William Armstrong Dutton (22 Mar 1855 - 21 Mar 1914) b. Marshall,
Iowa, d. St. Augustine, FL

2) Flora Dutton (6 Jun 1859 - ??) b, in ???ville, Ohio, d. in Charlotte, SC

3) Lillian (6 Aug 1864 - 9 May 1899) b. in ???ville, Ohio, d. Cleveland, Ohio



1) William A. m. Leslie Rock (on 1 May 1877) She lived (19 Jan 1857 -
14 Jan 1940)

Frank A. (3 Mar 1881 - 22 May 1907).
