Going over some of my notes and came across the following ;
"The Journals of Henry Melchior Muhlenberg" page 563. 606-7.
Page 563; Oct. 23, 1762- In the evening Johannes Hoffman came and
desired t have the banns proclaimed for him and Catharina Kahrer,
ABRAHAM DUTTON'S stepdaughter. I said, however, that he must first
bring written proof that his wife was dead, etc. page 606- March 12
1763- Afterward Christian Lauer widower, came and desired to have the
banns proclaimed tomorrow for himself and DUTTON'S stepdaughter, Karer.
page 607. March 14, Monday 1763 ABRAHAM DUTTON'S wife challenged the
proclamation of the banns of Christian Lauer with his daughter, named
Karer. End of Extracts.
Rev. Muhlenberg/burg lived in an area known as Trapp which is in or
near the Montgomery County area of Pa. Does anyone know who this Abraham
might be, as I have not checked further. This area is predominately a
German area.
