Hi All:
Now that Doug has taken the lead in, and the enormous chore of, providing
us with a copy of Dick Dutton's file, I thought it might be worth posting
what I understand is my line. Maybe I have some cousins on here. Might be fun
to share and compare our particular ancestors.
A family member had traced us back to Moses Dutton who served in the
American Revolution. Dick Dutton supplied details which showed Moses Dutton's
ancestry goes back to MA John, so you PA John descendants can tune out
now..... The Dutton name belonged to my great-grandmother, Carrie R.
Dutton (1865-1962) who married August Johann Schoenwether. Carrie's father was
William Allen Dutton (1842-1905) m. Mary Sophia Else
Allen Dutton (1796-1881) m. Sophia Dutton (1800-1876) and yes, a relative!
Allen's parents were Moses Dutton (1763-1857) m. Hannah Hitchcock
Joseph Dutton (1719/1720-1788) & Elizabeth Judd
Benjamin Dutton (1696-1791) m. Elizabeth Cone
Going back to Sophia Dutton who married Allen Dutton, her parents were
Timothy Dutton (1761-1837) m. Lucy Langdon
Benjamin Dutton m. Rebecca Woodruff
Benjamin Dutton (see above) m. Elizabeth Cone
Benjamin's father was
Joseph Dutton (1660/1661-1733-1734) m. Mary Cutler
Thomas Dutton (bet. 1619-1622 - 1686/1687) m. Susannah Palmer
John Dutton (1596-1693) m. Mary
If anyone sees any errors, please let me know. Our line went from MA to
New Haven, CT and on to Chautauqua County, NY. Carrie was born in WI, and she
and her family all lived for a while in SD. She stayed (while most of the
rest of the family moved on to Idaho and Washington State). She was still
living in SD, where I was born in 1943, and died in MT in 1962.
(Unfortunately, I never met her as we moved to CA when I was 2 years old.)
Anybody else on here part of this particular line?
Doni in CA
