Does anyone have any history on Luke CLAYTON? He performed the following baptisms:

William BLACKBURN parents John/Hannah, Soil Hill b. 02 Nov 1834 ch. 21 Feb 1834 Wesleyan, Illingworth Moor

Levi BLACKBURN parents John/Neley, Jumples Cragg b. 30 May 1822 ch. 04 Jul 1822 Zion Methodist New Connexion, Ovenden

Betty BLACKBURN parents John/Nelley, Jumples Cragg b. 21 Feb 1818 ch. 11 Oct 1819 Zion Methodist New Connexion, Ovenden

Feb 21, 1837 was a big christening fest for the residents of Swillhill, Ovenden (aka Soil Hill, Swilling Hill). Other Swillhillians taking the plunge on Feb 21 were:

3 children of George/Hannah MOORE, Swillhill
Isaac, son of Jonathan/Betty SUTCLIFFE, Swillhill
3 children of John/Hannah SUTCLIFFE, Swillhill

According to LDS filmed notes, Illingworth Moor Wesleyan Church grew out of Mt. Zion Church, Ovenden, when the Methodist New Connexion took over Mt. Zion Church and expelled the Wesleyans, who eventually founded Illingworth Moor Church. So, it looks like Luke CLAYTON was welcomed by both Kilhamites and expelled Wesleyans.
