I would assume that much of the required space is used during installation.
Perhaps you could change the location of your temp directory for the
duration of the install. In Win2K, temp is determined by a variable found in
the system control panel.

Hi Bob,

The first suite of programs I owned fit on a 176 Kilobyte floppy. I
fear that those days are long gone. Most programs on CD need at least
three times the program size free for installation. Since FTST is not
on a CD, that means the download is taking up space also. If you have
a CD-R or Zip drive, you MIGHT get FTST to install on G: drive. One
factor is that your Temp folder is on C: drive.

Will TMG5 be smaller? I don't see how it could be unless Bob were to
write it in a different language and I am sure that will not happen.
Earlier I was reading about Lindows and noted that it will have over
10 million lines of code. TMG5 may not be that large but TMG5 is not
a simple program. As it gets more complex, it will grow.
We ask for more and more features. Combine the features in FTST with
those in TMG4 and the result is a program very, very rich in features.
I am not a programmer but I find it hard to believe that features can
be added without increasing the size of the program. There is a bottom
line and in this case it will be program size. There is no free lunch.

The OS needs free space on C: and so do programs being installed, even
when the program is installed to another drive. Some files installed
by TMG/FTST and other programs will be added to the Windows System
folder because that is where Microsoft wants them. My recommendation
would be to remove some programs from C: drive, install them on
another drive and never add another program to C drive. IMO, for C
drive, 100 MB of free space is very marginal by todays standards.
