I'm not sure about (a): does that mean I can retain the <configuration>
of one chart and apply it to a new chart? It doesn't seem so
As to (b) yes, that helps, thanks; however FTST still thinks that there
is a box there so some of the text is left-aligned even when it is
totally inappropriate

Since birth and baptism are in the same group, only one or the other can be primary for any individual, and thus only on will show in the chart. They are in the same group because in some circumstances users do not have birth information and may chose to use the baptism info as a proxy.
