Display problem is a synonym for "bug."

For a Relationship tag, you can only enter one surety for the relationship
-- not one for the parent and one for the child. I wouldn't expect that to
change in TMG5, but I could be wrong.

Is it widely perceived to be a design flaw? I suspect that there are no
plans to change it.
