I agree with Lee, I keep several genealogy programs because of the reports
they do. I also use them as sort of a backup. I will make a new data set
with TMG and import it into Brother's Keeper, Family Origins (My favorite for
pedigree and family group sheets), PAF or FTM. I am a librarian, so I also
need to know something about a variety of programs to help patrons. Then I
print out the reports I need and keep the data set as a back up to that line.
TMG has everything in it because it really is the best program and it does
so many things, but because it is a big program itself and because the
database is so big, it doesn't lend itself to a situation where I have a
number of windows open on my computer.

Now that there is FTST I can see I'll do more of this. I can work on a
project in FTST with a smaller database and then make my changes. BTW,
someone said they had trouble importing from FTM. I've used that import
several times and didn't have any trouble. I am having the problem of it not
showing additional spouses. I also can't see the sources for the imported
program. The only one I have is a global import that I just did. When I
have a conflict, I want to see the source for the data to compare it.
