I would consider the grand duke story with a grain of salt. Overmyer
doesn't sound to me like the name of a grand duke.

There _is_ a town named Blankenloch near Karlsruhe, which puts it in
Baden: D-76297 Stutensee-Blankenloch. I would check US records like
the census or naturalization records first to see if you can find out
where your Overmier ancestors came from.
