(1) URGENT need for more volunteers translating to CZEch, POLish and GERman
and from CZEch.
(2) Some translators do more than one language pair.
====== HOW THINGS WORK =======
To use the automatic translation forwarder, your message must be
conformant to certain rules:
0.) Send your translation request to
NOTE: This has changed! The request will still be processed by
my forwarding demon at Giessen, but there is no need for a
specially formatted subject line.
1.) Syntax
The first line should read
#SRC>DEST
where SRC is the source language
and DEST is the destination language
Example:
#ENG>GER
for an English to German translation (mind the # sign!)
Besides ENGlish and GERman we do other languages as well:
POLish, FREnch, CZEch, DANish, NORwegian, SWEdish
2.) Length
Your message should have a maximum length of 40 lines
Remember: We are doing this for free, usually besides our daily
work. The shorter your message is, the higher is the chance that
we will do the translation in our next coffee break. If your
text to be translated is longer than 40 lines cut it into shorter
pieces and resend it.
3.) Format
Please send plain ASCII text only. No scanned pictures, attachments
and the like.
4.) Contents
As this service is for the genealogy groups you should stick
to the subject of genealogy. That is letters to/from cousins,
archives, parishes etc. The program cannot check it but the
translator can.
5.) Costs
None. This is a FREE service, provided you follow the above rules
(length & contents). A "thank you" to the translator would be polite.
