Hi from west central Florida,

The questions that I have concern Lieg and Ardern, Prussia.

1. In 1853 my great grandmother Karoline Christina Schuette emigrated
to the USA from Lieg, Prussia (according to marriage records). Does
anyone know exactly where that town is located and what was that area
of Prussia known as?

2. In 1855 my great grandfather, Christian Paul Liebau, emigrated to
the USA from Adern, Prussia (according to marriage records). Does
anyone know exactly where that town is located and what was that area
of Prussia known as?

I've been told that the town could now be Aachen. A family record
mentions that he was from the Principality of Luxenbourgh in the
Kingdom of Saxony. Would this be consistent with the town of Ardern
or is it the mixing of states?

3. From what port would Prussians leave if they were going to the
USA?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Charlie
