Hi Richard,

I believe that your village name is Deberndorf. At least that is the
closest I
could come to your spelling in Bavaria. There is a Dabendorf in
Brandenburg.

Deberndorf is a village and a rural community in Mittelfranken, Bavaria.
According to the Gazetteer of Place Names for Bavaria in 1928 (FHC #0924721)

the rural community was 1660 ha in size and contained 620 residents (8
Catholic, and
612 Lutheran). It consisted of 6 communities - the hamlet of Ballersdorf
(29 residents),
the village of Deberndorf (255 residents), the hamlet of Hornsegen (51
residents),
the village of R"utteldorf (68 residents) and the village with a churh
Zautendorf (111 residents).

The Lutheran Church for the people of Deberndorf was located 2 km away in
Zautendorf.
Zautendorf had both a Lutheran Church and School. (There was an indication
in the
records that the parish is united with Cadolzburg, and the seat is in
Cadolzburg (4 km away).)
There was no indication of where the Catholic church was located.

When you write, indicate that your ancestors lived in Deberndorf. If the
Church does not still have the records, I am sure that they will forward
your request to
the Church Archives, probably in Regensburg. If the records are now in
Cadolzburg,
I am sure that they will also forward the letter.
