oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
1.) Address
Send your requests to
2.) Syntax
First line should read
#SRC>DEST
where SRC is the source language
and DEST is the destination language
Example:
#ENG>GER
for an English to German translation (mind the # sign!)
3.) Supported languages
Currently we support the following languages:
CZEch, DANish, DUTch, ENGlish, FREnch, GERman, HUNgarian, ITAlian,
NORwegian, POLish, PORtuguese, SPAnish, SWEdish
CZE>ENG, CZE>GER, DAN>ENG, DAN>GER, DUT>ENG, DUT>GER, ENG>CZE, ENG>DUT,
ENG>FRE, ENG>GER, ENG>HUN, ENG>POL, ENG>POR, ENG>SPA, ENG>SWE, FRE>ENG,
FRE>GER, FRE>POR, FRE>SPA, GER>CZE, GER>DUT, GER>ENG, GER>FRE, GER>ITA,
GER>POL, GER>POR, GER>SPA, HUN>ENG, ITA>GER, ITA>POR, NOR>ENG, NOR>GER,
POL>ENG, POL>GER, POR>GER, POR>ITA, SLO>ENG, SPA>ENG, SPA>FRE, SPA>GER,
SWE>ENG, SWE>GER
4.) Length
Your message should have a maximum length of 40 lines
Remember: We are doing this for free, usually besides our daily
work. The shorter your message is, the higher is the chance that
we will do the translation in our next coffee break. If your
text to be translated is longer than 40 lines cut it into shorter
pieces and resend it.
5.) Contents
As this service is for the genealogy groups you should stick
to the subject of genealogy. That is letters to/from cousins,
archives, parishes etc. The program cannot check it but the
translator can.
6.) Costs
None. A "Thank you" to the translator would be nice. The volunteers
are willing to help, but of course we can't make any guarantees
regarding correctness nor can we be held liable in any way. If you
need guarantee you should ask a professional translator
