There seems to have been some confussion as to WHERE=A0to register your
surnames. Please don't register then here on
soc.genealogy.german....please send them to=A0<> to
be registered at the Genealogy Exchange & Surname Registry. (more info
below)

Please send surname information in the following format:
Surname, event, (dob/dod/mr/im), date of event, location of event, your
name, email address, url (if you have one) mailing address (optional).

We would like to tell you all about the Genealogy Exchange & Surname
Registry at <http://www.infi.net/~ajabby/Index_frame.htm>;

What is the Genealogy Exchange & Surname Registry? Simply stated it's
two things: first, a place to find general genealogical information, as
well as country/regional specific genealogical information. Second,
It's a repository for surname registries (databases).

The Exchange portion of our site is broken down into general genealogy,
regional and country pages where you can find specific genealogical
information on countries such as Poland, Lithuania, Ireland, Germany,
United States, and others. You can also find links to other sites
covering similar topics, mailing list/newsgroup information, book lists,

heraldry, genealogy for children, and much more.

In the General Genealogy section, you will find lots of goodies such as
Free look-ups and genealogy translations by volunteer genealogist around
the world!!!

The Select Surname Registry is currently comprised of four surname
registries (Frank, Gruber, Zielinski, and O'Connor) with plans to
eventually have up to fifty. The Gruber and Zielinksi Surname
Registries have been in operation for some time under our Gruber and
Zielinski mailing lists with hundreds of entries; the O'Connor registry
however, is new and is associated with our O'Connor mailing list. The
O'Connor Registry is only partially completed, but should be totally up
and running within a week
or so.

As part of the Surname Registry, you can also find general and surname
specific queries, and lookup volunteers (If you are willing to perform
look ups, please send us an email).

We also have a General Surname Registry where everyone can submit their
surnames so you can find other's searching the same name.

What you can expect to see at the Genealogy Exchange & Surname Registry
over the next few weeks:

- We will continue to add content and to refine the site layout.
- Expansion of the Surname Registries.
- Opening of the upcoming Gruber, Krebs, Zielinski, and O'Connor
Associations.
- and MUCH more!
