Subject: Tracing Jacobite exiles in France

In tracing a Scottish family (Falconer of Halkerton), I found that "Sir"
Alexander Falconer of Corsbie, a Catholic, was quartermaster-general
to James II, and that he died in 1717 at the Jacobite court near Paris.
He had several sons, one of whom was at the Scots College at Douai.
I say "Sir," because he would have been knighted by the exiled king.
In 1754, Alexander, 5th Lord Falconer of Halkerton, wrote in a letter
that there was a branch of the Falconers settled in France. This must
be the above family. However, I find no records of them in published
collections of French nobility or in the Cabinet d'Hozier. Falconers
do not appear in the Seine-et-Oise notarial records.
Does anyone have any suggestions on tracing the descendants of
this family?
