Press, Lincoln/London. First published in 1935 #33 in Lakeside Classics. Copy
of Carson's handwritten story of his fight with Shunar. Reared on the crude
Missouri Frontier, physically small, orphaned in childhood and bound to a
leather and saddle maker, David Workman, to learn the trade. He ran away and
Workman advertised in 1826 for a Christopher Carson, age about 16...ran away
from Franklin, Howard Co. MO. One cent reward promised to any person
returning the boy. Accounts of Indian battles, trapping, hardships, survival,
