Date: Mon, 18 Feb 2002 16:22:37 -0600
Rejected or Suspended Applications for Revolutionary War Pensions, 1852, 1969, 1991. Softcover, 5-1/4x8-1/4, 463 pages, index to states. very good condition. This book in is near new, if not as new, condition with no markings of any kind, underlining, highlighting, dog-eared or loose pages.
This large book covers those who applied for a pension under the Acts of 1832, 1836, and 1838. The applications are grouped under the state where the applicant was living at the time the application was made. Applicants could include the serviceman, their widow, or heirs. There are literally thousands of names of those who were rejected for a pension, or whose pensions were suspended. The full name of the soldier or applicant is given (if a widow has remarried, the husband's name who served is given), along with their place of residence at the time they applied, and the reason for the rejection or suspension. Also given are the documentations needed to be submitted in order to be reinstated. This large book covers all soldiers and heirs, no matter what state they lived in for service from any state. You may have Revolutionary War ancestors you were not aware of. Just because they did not receive a pension does not mean that they did not serve! This book may serve to open doo!
