None of the sources given at this site appear to be studies of the early
kings of this list. It might be worth asking Christopher Buyers where he
got it from.
As far as the origins of Rey's list, a fair statement of the state of the
art at the time it was given to him can probably be found in
Budge, E. A. Wallis: A History of Ethiopia, Nubia and Abyssinia (According
to the Hieroglyphic Inscriptions of Egypt and Nubia and the Ethiopian
Chronicles). London, 1928: Methuen (two vols.).
