Hello all,

Following my recent request for information about the Vic. Police
Gazette, with the help of a number of listers and then checking
out I have found -

1) The state library has some years of the VIC Police Gazette on
microfiche (to be ordered down from the general library section)
2) There is a book called "Ships Deserters etc" by Jim Melton
which covers the NSW Police Gazette.
3) I got my original information from http://www.oldnewscopy.com/
which is a site that is indexing old newspapers (you can order a
copy of the page from them).
4) I believe that the PRO also has some but have not had a chance
to check them yet.

The Police Gazette has lists of those wanted for deserting ships
which is the way a lot of men came to Australia. I just thought
I would let people know that there are two different states
available incase they had only searched one.
