Subject: [DNA] reporting of results

In reply to Doug Mumma's comments I too have been troubled by the
non-standard reporting of results provided by Family tree DNA. I would
like to say that although Oxford Ancestors are very slow at replying
to email, from what I read on their website it seems clear that they
give repeat numbers and loci names so that data can be exchanged. In
fact their selling point is that their data from 10 loci can be
compared to yield results into the future. They also have a very
attractive discount for more than 10 samples.
I am tempted to think that we are seeing a restrictive business
practice by FTDNA similar to what was attempted by Microsoft! A
concerned DNA fan.
