Subject: [DNA] Australian Discovery Surprize
Date: Mon, 15 Jan 2001 23:43:21 EST
Here's a reference to the recent story
The Australians have found an interesting skeleton ,sometimes called Mungo
Man
Besides being about 63,000 years old his DNA matches no others alive or dead
So its time for a new and improved theory above and beyond the "out of
Africa" theory.
{If the Australians continue with discoveries like this we may have to start
drawing maps with the South Pole at the top, to change the way we look at
the world. <grin>)

>>Instead, the Lake Mungo fossil suggests at least one anatomically modern
lineage that has no relationship to contemporary humans, the Australian team
said. The fossil appears to belong to an independent genetic line that is now
extinct.<<
