Two labs offer specialized Native American testing: FTDNA for paternal and
maternal lines, and Ancestry/Relative Genetics for maternal lines only. Your
NA line must have a straight line of males or females back to the presumed
ancestor. See my recent post about whether to use the specialized or regular
mtDNA test, though.
Chris Pomery and Kevin Duerinck try to keep up-to-date on surname projects.
Their lists have some overlap, but it's worth checking both. However, neither
one lists a CHURCH project.

FTDNA allows you to search their database for surnames, but there is no way
to contact the other parties unless you get a DNA test which results in a
match. No CHURCH listed there, either!

Another way to find projects is to join the RootsWeb mailing list for those
surnames or search their archives. Go to the http://www.rootsweb.com and find
the "Interactive Search" link under mailing lists. You can also post messages
on Ancestry and GenForum boards for your surnames. Maybe you can stir up
interest if nothing's underway!
