Subject: [DNA] Relevance of 3-step mutation
Date: Thu, 1 Aug 2002 13:46:19 EDT

Results for one participant in the Walker DNA Project showed a 3-step
mutation (DYS 439) from another Walker participant. The other 11 markers
tested matched exactly.

DYS:393...390....19.....391....385a....385b....426....388....439....389i....39

2...389ii

#1....13......24......14.....10.......11.......14.......12.....12......11.....

.13......13.....29
#2....13......24......14.....10.......11.......14.......12.....12......14.....

.13......13.....29

If the mutations had been three mutations spread over three different
markers, I would disregard it completely. However, being on one marker, I am
wondering if there might be some significance.

Person #1 is Kit #751.
Person #2 (Kit # 2738) above has not yet been posted to the Walker DNA
website.

Thanks for any information.
