Hi,
I have just learned the results of my brother's mtDNA test from FTDNA:
HVR1 Haplogroup K
K is the abbreviation for Katrine, one of Eve's 7 daughters, I
presume...right?
HVR1 Mutations 16224C 16311C 16519C
I checked the Mitochondrial DNA Concordance -- HVR 1 Concordance at
http://shelob.bioanth.cam.ac.uk/mtDNA/ to see if our specific
mtDNA pattern has been reported in the literature before.
I found out that his mtDNA mutations: 16224[C] 16311[C] 16519[C]
were reported in the following research.
.Horai,90; SB31; Cauc. UK(1)
.Horai,90; LKK3; Cauc. (unknown)(1)
Am I correct in interpreting the above to mean that his and my mtDNA is
fairly unusual since those mutations have only been reported by
researchers as being represented by two other people?
Does anyone else on this list have a matching mtDNA sequence?
Thanks much,
Mary Allison Yonan
