Don,
I took all of my five digit numbers and looked them up and matched them
against the lists in area HVR1 for example if you have 12345 then look up
that group with that as the feature number and see if all or your other
numbers are there.
Do this group by group.
After that go to HVR2 and do that with the 3 digit numbers.
I printed all of my pages off and used a red pen for exact matches and a
green pen for a - 1..
I am not sure if this is the correct way to do it but I was satisfied with my
conclusion as my family said we came from Ireland and Scotland.
Years ago my dermatologist said I had Mediteranean skin.
I do have a ridge on the base of my skull, a prominent nose and sleepy eyes,
but that is on my mother's father's side.
My only regret is that I can only go back to my great great grandmother and
have no one to do a test with.
My grandmother never know much about her mother's people.
I found out most of what little I know from the censuses and doing searches.
Perhaps someone here on the list can tell a better way and I will learn as
well.
Pat
