Yes, it is one step removed from the "Atlantic Modal Haplotype," also called
haplogroup 1. That's the most common haplotype in Europe.

Your father could also do the test, IF the NA ancestry is in a straight line
of females or a straight line of males. FTDNA has a diagram on their web
site. Your father's mtDNA is the same as his sister's and his sister's
children. However, you would have the mtDNA of your mother.
