I found in an unpublished database of 10,000 sent to me by Kristiina Tambets
in Estonia, (University of Tartu) where H is subdivided. According to her
database, H2b is found in many countries, and has many sequences, but all
including 356 and 362 and either 189 or 129, found mostly in Estonia and
Finland, but my particular sequences 189, 365, 362 are found in England, and
among the Bashkirs, Turks, Ukrainians, Norwegians, Swedes, Icelanders, Komis
(Finland group), Poles, Germans, English, Scottish, Bulgarians, Croats,
Albanians, Crete, Austria, Siena, Italy, Portugal, and Spain. That just says
they all had quite an expansion throughout history and were prolific from
Spain to the Urals.
When I have Family Tree test HVS2, I'll let you know whether I'm an H or a
U4. Incidentally, U4 would cover precisely the same countries and also add
the Caucasus, Iraq, Armenia, and Pakistan to the list, and include Finland.
So either U4 or H2b, it looks like these founders covered about the same
geographic areas, maybe. I'll let you know the results found when I get them
back from Family Tree. Thanks for the information.
I loved reading The Seven Daughters of Eve. I also found the book
Archaeogenetics, Macdonald Institute Monographs to be excellent and tell me
what I wanted to know. Both books are wonderful. I found Archaeogenetics
written for the scientific community to be just what I wanted to find out.
Also, what I like most about Family Tree in their DNA testing is that they
actually emailed me and asked whether I want HVS II or I analyzed and told
me they also do RLFPs if you ask for it. So I am happy to report that I
enjoyed being given the choice. In any case, I'll let you know when I get
the results.
Thanks
