I received a partial answer to this. The test is intended as a substitute for
paternity tests when the presumed father is not available, but there is a
related male. For this purpose, the laboratory would be using frequency of
various alleles in the general population to calculate probabilities, and
they only have data for blacks and Caucasians. The person who could answer my
questions as to which markers were used was on vacation. I'm still curious
about that, so I'll put that on my to-do list.
