Subject: [DNA] Ancient peoples DNA--a hopeful endeavor!?
Date: Sat, 01 Mar 2003 17:40:43 -0800
I would love to see a researcher who can gather the DNA of diseased
peoples from ancient civilizations and do Y and mtDNA tests on them.
For example, there are many figures in history who I would love to see
if I have a relationship with. I know it take tons of effort to do
this, but what a treat it would be to do DNA analysis of Sir Isaac
Newton, Albert Einstein, or even an unnamed Roman soldier. I would love
to see the "genetic fingerprint" of Galileo and anyone from any ancient
civilization.
I would think researchers from Universities would like to do this too.
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks,
Louis Loccisano
P.S. I know Bryan Sykes did DNA analysis on the "Ice man" found in the
Alps. I say--lets do more of this!! It could show migration patters
as well!
