There is actually a list for Mulungeon DNA discsussions. Most lists consider
this subject off-limits, since many posters become get very irrational. Pat
Elder is regularly castigated over on that list.

Most of the stories are just folklore, for which there is no evidence.
Reasonable resesearchers, such as Pat Elder, believe Melungeons to be
descendants of the many whites who married blacks and Indians in VA and NC.
