Remarkable! The spread of Celtic culture was accomplished by a peaceful
"transfer," rather than by conquest. All the more amazing in light of
the Irish mythological cycle, which depicts wave after wave of invaders,
in the Lebor Gabala Erenn (The Book of the Taking of Ireland)--not to
mention the legendary warfare of the Arthurian cycle, the Tain and other
traditional literature. I guess the Celts just liked to talk about
fighting, rather than engaging in it? ; )
