GED is the file extension type for a GEDCOM file [GEneological Data COMmunications] It is used to transfer genealogy information files between various related software - Rootsmagic, Family Tree Maker, etc. To use it, one typically imports the GED file into the genealogy program.

Subject: [DNA] GED files?

Someone with matching gene blocks found in the FF program sent me his gedcom ancestral files ending in .GED

Do I need a CD to read these things? When i click on them to open they just give me nothing, so to speak.
