Interesting. When I spent a year in Iceland in the early '70s the local people claimed that no "Eskimos" or Native Americans had ever inhabited the island. It makes sense that those Vikings traveled far for their women and the mtDNA can prove it. The Icelanders did insist, even back then, that a Viking discovered America.
