Footnotes 5 and 6 of the above study refer to the work of Joao Zilhao who
offers a somewhat different interpretation of the physical evidence (as it
existed in 2005) of Iberia's Neolithic. He has published several very good
papers on his theory of maritime colonization of Iberia from peoples of the
central and eastern Mediterranean, including the Balkans. Those who may be
interested in this subject should read "Maritime pioneer colonisation in the
early Neolithic of the west Mediterranean. Testing the model against the
evidence" or "Radiocarbon evidence for maritime pioneer colonization at the
origins of farming in west Mediterranean Europe".
