You are correct George that FS trainees carry out the work with the state
paying their (very low) training allowances However FS does not pay for
buildings, rent, rates electricity or computer and office equipment - that
has to be paid for from the fees 'earned' by the research carried out on
behalf of the public.

As a matter of record Tipperary Heritage Unit is a non profit organisation
with only one paid full time member of staff.
