At the risk of offending the genealogy purists, I cant pass without adding a
few sayings from my own memory, from long ago in Ireland.
1. When you did something stupid:- "sense bought instead of sense taught".
2.When you did something wrong:- "You'll sup sorrow with a long spoon!"
3. If your boasting about having got away with something, you would soon be
deflated by:-
"If you're born to be hanged, you wont be drowned."
