STREET BEGGARS.--Our streets are once more
beginning to be infested by numbers of sturdy
mendicants, who either squat themselves close to the
shop windows, or block up the door ways, much to
the injury of the owners, and who refuse to budge an
inch, without the striking compulsion of the "Specials,"
who are undoubtedly at present the shopkeeper's best
friend.
